COMMUNITY MEDIATION SERVICE

Get access to free or low cost mediation services and resolve your dispute effectively. Check your eligibility and whether we offer dispute resolution services for your type of dispute.

BASIC MEDIATION TRAINING

Help others resolve disputes and get on with their lives by training in mediation services. After an introduction, learn about techniques, processes and ethical issues when mediating disputes.

MAORI DISPUTE RESOLUTION TRAINING

Help the Maori community by mediating disputes after this full day training session. Learn about Maori world-view and principles, Maori needs and interests and cultural considerations.

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR MEDIATION SERVICES?

$33,800 (single person)
$38,000 (1 dependent – spouse/partner or 1 child)
$50,934 (2 dependents – spouse/partner or children)
$57,880 (3 dependents – spouse/partner or children)
$64,678 (4 dependents – spouse/partner or children)
$72,302 (5 dependents – spouse/partner or children)

Note Participants who do not meet the free eligibility criteria will be income tested to determine eligibility. If an exemption is given, access to the service will be based on a koha/donation basis. Participants who do not meet the eligibility criteria and are not given exemption to access the service will be means tested to determine eligibility. If an exemption is given, participants will be charged a fee of $400 inc GST per two hour mediation session. Participation in mediation is voluntary and therefore all participants must provide written consent in order for mediation to proceed.
